The Vampire Diaries Series

We all know about the show... Some of us are fans, other's completely despise it. I have to admit, after reading the book first, I don't really like the show. The first Season's alright, then it just goes downhill. Separating further and further from the original story. It's no surprise that the real author of the book, L. J. Smith, was basically fired from the show's cast. The director basically stole her title and some of her story, and destroyed it. But enough about the depressing reality that is the show, and more about the books. I really love this series so much, even though I read them for the first time at a young age. L. J. Smith is one of my favorite authors because of the way she can create a real picture in your mind. I highly recommend the books. But beware! This is a very long series and the last few books can get a bit confusing. If you watch the show be prepared for a completely different story (ex. Elena'a a blond with blue eyes...) otherwise you'll be searching for characters that only exist in the show.
