The Divergent Series

Hopefully you've heard about this series by Veronica Roth, or at least the movie. A story about a female protagonist who grows in a very different government system. I don't want to spoil much about the story, so you'll have to read it on your own! I'll admit, this story was one of the rare cases where I saw the movie first. I have to say, I think the movie director did an amazing job. I really felt like the book was summed up very well in the movie, but I still enjoyed reading the book. I bought the whole series in a set via Kindle, so I started the second one... and I still haven't finished it. I talked to a friend who was also reading the series and was informed she had the exact same problem. She too stopped half-way through the second book. The characters almost seem to take a dark turn and everything seems very depressing. I must warn you that towards that half-way point of the second book there's a really gory scene. Its very descriptive and involved needles...needless to say it made me nauseous. But if you enjoyed the Hunger Games series, I am sure you'd really enjoy these books too. I am sure I'll resume reading it soon.
